From here we walk along the Mickleden valley before beginning the ascent up to Rossett Pike, from now on it’s all mountainous terrain. The summits in the order we plan to visit them are: Rossett Pike – 651m; Allan crags – 785m; Ill crag – 935m; Broad crag – 934m; Scafell Pike – 977m; Great End – 910m; Esk Pike – 885m; Bowfell – 902m Route facts: Logistics & Accommodation: The Lake District has a wealth of good quality accommodation to suit all budgets, check our website for some around the south lakes. We also run a B&B in Ambleside: 2 Cambridge Villas Fitness requirements: A high level of fitness is needed to get the most out of this trip. The day will feel long, with about 10 hours or more of mountain walking. You need to feel comfortable walking with a small day- sack for extended periods and during adverse weather conditions. We strongly advise you to complete some training walks before you arrive. Time invested in training will undoubtedly add to the enjoyment of your trip. Weather: The weather in the mountains of the British Isles can be unpredictable. If we’re lucky it will be beautiful! However, it’s best plan for wind & rain just in case.
